STAFF ACCOUNTANT - Ryan Center/Boss Ice Arena at the University of Rhode Island (Kingston, RI)

Summary:
Monitor, control, and audit all financial transactions, and to perform a full range of professional accounting duties involved in fiscal management, record keeping, reporting and financial analysis of the facility.? Further duties include Human Resources coordination and assisting the Director of Finance with budgeting and financial reporting as needed for the Boss Arena and Ryan Center.
Qualifications:
? Two years of professional accounting experience preferably including some supervisory experience and significant work in financial auditing.
? A Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or a closely related field.
? Knowledge of MAS 200 and ADP HR/Payroll Software preferred.
? May require working beyond normal business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays based on event calendar.
? Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
? Proven ability to work well with all levels of management.
? Operate a ten key calculator by touch at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
? Operate a computer to perform accounting functions.
Job Functions:
? Process and prepare accounts payable invoices.
? Detail processing for accounts receivable, and collection calls for outstanding payments.
? Prepare bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees; coordinate human resource functions/policies
? Maintain all employee records.
? Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
? Assist with month end closing procedures.
? Prepare audit work papers and perform analysis of accounts.
? Perform related professional accounting work in support of accounting functions.
? Apply Federal, State, and local laws and regulations pertaining to accounting and auditing work.
? Examine and verify a variety of financial documents and reports.
? Prepare a variety of financial spreadsheets, reports, and analyses.
? Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by Director of Finance and General Manager.
